By accessing, browsing, or purchasing from Time & Tide Skincare (the "Company," "we," "us," or "our"), you ("Customer," "you," or "your") acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws and regulations.

2.1 Product Nature

Time & Tide Skincare specialises in handcrafted, artisan skincare products made with natural ingredients sourced responsibly. Our products are:

UK Compliance Standards

All products comply with UK Cosmetic Product Safety Regulations 2008, REACH Regulation, and are registered with the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS).

    Natural Variations: Due to natural ingredients, slight variations in colour, scent, or texture may occur.

    Shelf Life: Products have optimum use-by dates and should be stored as directed.

Important Notice

Our products contain natural ingredients that may cause allergic reactions in sensitive individuals. Always perform a patch test before full use. Discontinue use if irritation occurs.

3. Ordering Process

How orders are placed, confirmed, and processed

3.1 Order Placement

    Website Orders: Orders placed through our secure website constitute an offer to purchase.

    Order Confirmation: We will send email confirmation within 2 hours of order placement.

    Acceptance: Contract formation occurs when we dispatch your order, not at order placement.

    Inventory: All orders subject to product availability. We reserve the right to refuse orders.

Cancellation Window

You have 15 minutes after order placement to request cancellation. After this time, orders enter our fulfilment process and cannot be cancelled due to the artisan nature of our products.

4. Pre-Orders

Understanding pre-order products and fulfilment timelines

Some products or the entire collection may be available as pre-orders due to upcoming launches, seasonal production, or order handling requirements. Pre-order items will be clearly marked on the website with expected fulfilment dates.

What is a Pre-Order?

A pre-order allows you to purchase products in advance of their availability. This may be due to a new product launch, limited batch production, or high demand requiring additional production time.

    Payment: Full payment is required at the time of pre-order placement to secure your order in the production queue.

    Fulfilment Date: Expected dispatch dates are clearly displayed on product pages and at checkout. You will receive email notification with tracking when your order is dispatched.

    Cancellation Rights: Pre-orders can be cancelled for a full refund up to 14 days before the stated fulfilment date. After this period, cancellation is not possible as products enter production.

    Delays: If unforeseen circumstances cause delays beyond the stated fulfilment date, we will notify you immediately and offer the option of a full refund or waiting for the revised timeline.

Important Note

Pre-order products are handcrafted to order. Once production begins, orders cannot be cancelled or modified. All pre-orders are subject to the same return policy as standard products (unopened items only).

5. Payment Terms

Pricing, payment methods, and financial obligations

5.1 Pricing and Payment

    Currency: All prices displayed in British Pounds (GBP) and include VAT where applicable.

    Payment Due: Full payment required at time of order placement.

    Accepted Methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay via Stripe.

    Price Changes: Prices may change without notice, but confirmed orders honor the original price.

    Failed Payments: Orders with payment failures will be automatically cancelled after 48 hours.

Payment Security

All transactions processed through Stripe's secure payment gateway. We never store your payment details on our servers. All payment data is encrypted and complies with PCI DSS standards.

6. Delivery and Risk Transfer

Shipping terms, delivery expectations, and risk allocation

6.1 Delivery Terms

    UK Mainland: Standard delivery 2-3 working days. Free shipping on orders over £50.

    Scottish Highlands & Islands: 3-5 working days with additional shipping charges.

    Northern Ireland: 3-5 working days via Royal Mail Special Delivery.

    Channel Islands & Isle of Man: Available with additional charges and customs considerations.

    Risk Transfer: Risk of loss transfers to customer upon delivery to carrier.

Temperature Sensitive Products

Some products may be sensitive to extreme temperatures. During summer months (June-August), we may delay shipping during heatwaves to protect product integrity.

7. Returns and Cancellation Rights

Your rights under UK Consumer Contracts Regulations and our policy

7.1 Distance Selling Rights

UK Consumer Rights

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you normally have 14 days to cancel. However, cosmetic products are exempt from this right if the seal has been broken for hygiene reasons.

    Hygiene Exemption: Due to hygiene requirements, opened skincare products cannot be returned.

    Unopened Products: Unopened items may be returned within 14 days of receipt in original packaging.

    Defective Products: Defective items replaced or refunded regardless of hygiene exemption.

    Return Costs: Customer bears return shipping costs unless product is defective.

Returns Allowed ONLY if Unopened

Returns are only accepted for completely unopened and unused products within 14 days of receipt. Once a cosmetic product has been opened, it cannot be returned due to hygiene and safety regulations.

Customer Responsibility for Return Shipping

The customer bears all costs and responsibility for returning eligible items. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, retailers are only required to pay return costs for faulty or misdescribed goods. For change-of-mind returns on cosmetics, the burden of return costs falls on the consumer.

Legal Basis

Under EU Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009 (retained in UK law) and the Cosmetic Products Enforcement Regulations 2013, opened cosmetic products pose hygiene risks and cannot be resold. This policy protects consumer safety and complies with UK trading standards.

8. Liability and Warranty

Understanding our responsibilities and limitations under UK law

8.1 Product Warranty

    Quality Assurance: Products are of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose under Sale of Goods Act 1979.

8.2 Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or other rights that cannot be excluded under UK law (Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977).
